Ottoman Axel, Wheat Leather
Ottoman Axel is hand woven in vegetable tanned leather, finished in a variety of wheat tones which provide a true weaving look on the piece. It presents some imperfections which are part of its hand made craftsmanship. Rough sawn driftwood hardwood base makes this a perfect modern farm piece which can be used as a center cocktail table or as an ottoman with plenty of seating area.

Unlike the soft leather you are used to seeing on luxury leather goods such as high-end purses, vegetable tanned leathers are rustic, thick and very durable. For instance, consider this leather to be the type you would find in equestrian saddles and antique leather goods. Unlike chrome tanned leatherswhich have toxic properties, vegetable tanned products have less of an impact on our environment, eliminating much of the pollution caused by modern tanning methods. Every vegetable tanned leather produced is unique in its own way.
